My First Week of the Spring Semester

My second semester of college started last week. It was a bit tiring but not as exhausting as I thought it would be.

On Mondays, I start class at 9:45am and end at 9:40pm; I imagined myself collapsing in school and passing out of fatigue but I felt fine! I had my first Monday class this week and I just studied in the library during my break (I have an hour break between each class).

On Wednesdays, I start class at 12:10am. I get more sleep on that day but I have a three hour lab plus I also end at 9:40pm that day. My lab professor is super strict. My friend and I did the wrong Pre-lab assignment (we did the assignment for Experiment 1 but we were supposed to start with Experiment 7 instead). When my friend asked her if we could make it up she said "NO." without letting my friend finish her sentence. She also does not explain things very well; my lab group was super confused during lab and in the end we just BSed the lab (omg I know lol).

Thursday is a shorter day since I end at 4pm. Normally I am pooped by that day because of my late class and lab on the day before. I fell asleep in my history class and I think my professor saw so she probably hates me now D: Not really my fault since the classroom was probably the hottest classroom in the school.

On Tuesdays and Fridays, I have no class scheduled! I managed to fit all my classes in  those three days so I don't have to commute back and forth since I live pretty far.

The first day of class was not as hectic as I thought it would be. I had zero hours of sleep the night before because I was too anxious. Every time I was about to drift to sleep, a sudden worry would strike my mind and I would instantly be awake O__O

What if the train is empty when I come home from my night class? I don't wanna be attacked or mugged!

What if the bus takes forever to arrive when I go home? I don't want to wait 20-30 minutes in the cold :(

What if I won't make it to my Stats class in time from lab? My lab ends at 5pm and my stats class starts at 5:35pm. The lab building and the main campus is around 40 blocks away from each other and the commute between them is roughly 30 minutes. The blizzard just ended a few days ago and I feared that I would have to run through snow. :(

What if my professors are terrible?

I was so nervous that I did not get any shut eye. I watched the sun rose behind my blinds and soon, I gave up trying to sleep and got ready for class.

I prepped my skin up with products but since I did not go to sleep at all, my skin did not heal itself so it was a waste :c I even broke out a little and my skin just looked very tired and dry...

English is my first class on Wednesday. My professor reminded me of my high school teacher, Ms. Amster for some reason; maybe because she was very petty and had this type of niceness that I felt had a underlying hint of "fed up" (na mean lol). I judge a professor by their syllabus. On hers, it says that students would be marked absent if we:
  • take out our phones
  • fall asleep
  • 1/2 absence if we come 10 minutes late
  • 1 absence come 15 minutes late
We cannot use electronic copies of our books which is dumb because we are to read Macbeth this semester and it would be so easy to just get an online copy for free but nah she don't let students use laptops or tablets or whatnot because she "lost trust" in students since they use those electronics for other things that aren't school related (which I can understand I guess).

Plus we are required to use a binder. Is this high school?? I rather carry a 5-subject notebook than lug a binder. We also have to write a heading on all our assignments: Name, Professor, Class, Date. BUT BUT the date has to be in DAY/MONTH/YEAR format. I know that is the "correct" way to write the date since it makes sense but I write it the other way all my life; it's gonna be so hard to adjust :/

I have that class on all three days of my classes but at least they're 50 minutes per class.

After English, I had Orgo chemistry lab. Lab starts 2:10pm. I arrived at 2:11pm and it's like I already missed 10 minutes of information since my lab teacher started early (I think -_-). It was boring; we just watched a video on lab safety like last semester (it was the same video too).

The professor dismissed us early so I went to eat lunch with my friend since I had two hours before my Stats class. We had Vietnamese noodles! :D

My Stats class was okay; it was held in a computer lab so slides, homework and basically everything was online.

Slayed the first day of class with zero hours of sleep! I took this selfie during my break. I packed on makeup especially the eyeliner lol; I rarely wear this much makeup but my face needed it :( The eyeliner took me 15 minutes to do since I kept messing up! h8 liquid eyeliner but ta-daa~ the power of makeup.

My last class is psychology; it is one of the few classes that I was genuinely intrigued in. The course is called "Human Development" which means that I would learn about humans from birth to death. Did you know that picking up a baby when she/he is crying will cause it to grow up to be spoiled? Attending the course made me realize how much my parents has fucked up (lol :/)

Anyway, that was how my first day of class was like. It was not as bad as I thought! I was early to my Stats class since lab was only 30 minutes, the train was pretty packed even though it was 10pm so I wasn't alone and my mom offered to drive me home so I did not have to wait for the bus.

Thank goodness for that because there was absolutely no bus at all since it snowed heavily that day :O

Here is a video of one of "Hunter College's pets" I saw while I was at the library:

There were only a few students in the library but I was the only one who saw the mouse! The first time I saw it, I gasped so loud it ran away. It came back so that's when I caught it on video mwahahaha!

This is me yesterday! The new concealer I bought SUCKS. It's called Revlon under eye concealer or some shit like that and I remembered it worked very well before since it was the first concealer I've used. It was $12 bruhh

But my #ootd was aesthetic af cus of the grid socks and my Adidas Samoa hehe
This is probably the least basic outfit I've worn during my time at college. I normally just wear a shirt and a pair of jeans :T

Wow this blog post was realllyyyy long! Anyweiiiiii this concludes today's entry.

  1. Omg, your English professor sounds pretty obsessed! Why does she care about all these tiny things?
